A man is on the run after he stabbed his parents to death then stabbed his sister to within an inch of her life.

23-year-old Michael Ohkide is an upcoming singer and also a drug addict. On Tuesday evening, February 4, he stabbed his parents - Barr. Clement Okhide and his wife Toyin - in their apartment on Afeez Gbadamosi Street in the Ejigbo area of Lagos. His parents died from the stab wounds.

He also stabbed his sister Mary. She was found in a pool of her blood and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Michael, who is the first child out of three children, in now on the run. It is not clear what led him to stab his family members but residents who know him said it might be linked to his drug habits. They claim Michael has been a problematic son who caused his parents grief and frustrated all their efforts to mould him into a responsible man.

Those close to the family also claim that Michael is confrontational and doesn't spare anyone who tries to advise him to change his ways.

On the day he killed his parents, he was seen hurriedly leaving the compound in just his boxers. This raised brows but no one suspected he would have gone as far as killing his parents.
